The Marketing Aspects
Marketing my Onlyfans has taught me to think in terms of consumer psychology — after all, I am trying to understand the male thought processes that can lead to a potential subscription. A part of this is curating an image — the image projects a fantasy in the mind of each individual subscriber. I am not saying create an all out lie — I will not foster any false fantasy of a potential romantic future between us. I will not exploit anyone’s vulnerabilities for the sake of profit. What I mean is that I offer an exploration of subscribers’ kinks through role play or by a custom video where they can choose from a wide variety of fetishes what they want me to act out (the list ranges from breeding, Race play, DDlg, Degradation, etc).
A part of this is creating an open non-judgmental space where the subscriber feels they can express themselves freely. I prioritize the aspects of Onlyfans that distinguish it from porn — interaction, customs, and personality. Although I do post high quality BG videos (which caters to a wider audience), my page is not centered around the expectation that the subscriber’s mind will be filtered by arousal, causing him to spend an ungodly amount of money for what was only minutes of her time. The key to subscriber retention is creating worthwhile content, plain and simple. Having started my OF in August of this year, I went straight to business in building up a good amount BG content. Although my Onlyfans page is fairly niche, I feel my BG content is easily digestible to a wider audience so if they’re not into my intellectual posts, they can choose to ignore it and instead look at my BG videos. This is why I offer variety in content; I hope to include audio content in the future.
I think we need to reframe the way we see onlyfans and it’s subscribers — people don’t seem to fully comprehend onlyfans beyond its porn aspects which is a shame. It just shows willful ignorance on their part — people like this assume that majority of subscribers are included in a subset of men who are socially awkward, ugly, can’t attract women in real life. Sure, there are some of these types but from what I discovered, many of my subscribers are normal individuals with healthy flourishing social lives. Subscribers are active supporters of the content they consume — this is simply an ethical form of porn consumption that gives power to the creator rather than a big company. We have been thinking about the ethics of food and brand consumption for years, why restrict this line of thinking with porn? Just because something is free, doesn’t mean it’s better or has higher value.

I used to read a lot of books on Behavior economics which illustrates the irrationality underlying a lot of our economic decisions. OF gives me the opportunity to utilize what I’ve learned for the purpose of better marketing myself and understanding my intended consumer base. If you’re interested, here are my thoughts on OF marketing and some questions I consider in these respects.
I would need to build a model of the decision making process of men during their normal mental state and a sexually aroused mental state. Decisions made during a sexually aroused state tend to favor short term immediate benefits over well-thought out future gains in the long term. At what time of the day are men most likely making their subscriptions and are intentionally searching for women to subscribe to or is this done by accident?
My first question would be, what state is the male in when he first subscribes to an Onlyfans. How sexually aroused is he during this state ? What factors influence his decision to rebill or purchase additional bundle subscriptions? How much does subscription price factor into the decision to subscribe? What is the price limit to which you are willing to pay and what determines this limit?
How much does subscription price factor into the decision to subscribe? Features that range from consistent posting, specific video content, sexting, fan interaction, customs, fetish related, etc). What is the price limit to which he is willing to pay and what determines this limit? My thought process begins at what OF is essentially replacing to the male audience which is JOI porn. Porn is free but OF adds something extra — a personalized touch and human interaction. This concept is referred to as Mental Accounting which is the tendency to divide their resources by its specific purposes — it is a behavioral bias that causes people to separate their finances in different categories. The OF subscription price shouldn’t be prohibitively expensive where he cannot justify paying it essentially just to get off, but must be one where he feels he is gaining greater value in product than what he has paid. He will have less incentive to subscribe if the product merely m e e t s his expectations in content value — porn being free, it should exceed the base subscription price in product value to ensure him feeling he is getting a good deal off a worthwhile product.
How many OF profiles do they subscribe to on average? If multiple, what are the facets of a profile that play most prominent of a role in guiding a consumer’s decision? How much does a creator’s personality factor in to a person’s decision to subscribe? How much of their personality do they want to see or just enough where there’s some level of fantasy involved in projecting desired characteristics on to them? How much do physical features or racial preference play a role?
A problem I see with some OF creators is they make the mistake of assessing the value of their subscription off their own perceived worth or their content in isolation — you must judge your product in comparison to the ongoing market rate — what are OF creators charging and what content are they providing in exchange ? What also has to be considered is the price men are willing to justify paying and for the most part, there is usually a limit after $20 a month. You cannot attach your own perceived value to the subscription price but think about it in terms of what people are willing to pay. No matter how hot you are, men can only feel justified paying up to a certain amount. What are those that factor into these justifications? I suppose that depends on how horny the male is and how hot the female is but on average, he can only justify so much for and will have clarity upon orgasm and will reconsider his next payment decision if this experience did not meet his expectations in terms of the pleasure gained / financial cost ratio.
What are the features included in a subscription that greatly incentivize a man to subscribe? How much content creator / subscriber interaction is expected and desired? How much of it is discussion based or customs related? I understand that the expectation is dependent on the subscriber count of the creator which I will cover in the next section.
Do presumed subscriber count matter to the consumer? I think a healthy balance is desired where there are enough subscribers that incentivize consistent quality in production but not too much where there is little interaction between them and their subscribers. What is roughly the desired medium in terms of subscriber count? Should an OF creator display their subscriber count on their page or should they keep it hidden? Does the percentage % number that some OF pages advertise at the top of their page actually influence the consumer’s decision to subscribe?
